About Darul Uloom Batkote
Darul Uloom Batkote — formally known as Darul Uloom Shaikh Noor Din Wali (RA) — is a residential Islamic madrasa situated in Batkote, Pahalgam, in the heart of Jammu & Kashmir. Established in 2012, the institution was founded with a singular mission: to provide children and young men of the region with authentic Quranic education rooted in the Deobandi tradition and guided by the principles of Darul Uloom Deoband.
The madrasa operates under the supervision of Rabita Madaris Islamia Arabia, Darul Uloom Deoband — Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, ensuring that its curriculum, teaching methodology and scholarly standards remain aligned with one of the most respected centres of Islamic learning in the world. This affiliation reflects the institution's deep commitment to preserving the integrity of classical Islamic scholarship in a region where access to structured religious education has historically been limited.
At Darul Uloom Batkote, education extends beyond the transmission of knowledge. The institution is equally devoted to the moral formation of its students — nurturing in them the values of sincerity, discipline and service to their communities. Every student is prepared not only to recite and understand the Quran, but to embody its teachings in their conduct and character.
Serving students from across Pahalgam and the wider Jammu & Kashmir region, Darul Uloom Batkote stands as a trusted institution for families seeking a rigorous, values-centred Islamic education — one that honours the legacy of classical scholarship while preparing the next generation of Muslims to serve their faith and their society.

Message from the Principal
A Word of Welcome
Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem. On behalf of the faculty and students of Darul Uloom Batkote, I extend a warm welcome to every family and student who has placed their trust in this institution. It is a responsibility we carry with humility and sincerity, knowing that the education of a child is among the most sacred trusts a community can bestow upon those who teach.
The Quran is not merely a text to be memorised — it is a way of life to be lived. At Darul Uloom Batkote, our purpose is to ensure that every student develops a genuine relationship with the Book of Allah: one built on understanding, reflection and daily practice. Alongside Quranic learning, we remain deeply committed to nurturing in our students the qualities of honesty, patience, discipline and compassion — because knowledge without character is incomplete.
To the families of our students: your trust means everything to us. We are honoured to serve the children of Pahalgam and Jammu & Kashmir, and we pray that Allah accepts our efforts and makes this institution a source of lasting benefit for our community, our region and our faith. We ask for your continued prayers and support as we walk this path together.
Vision & Mission
Every institution stands on a foundation of purpose. At Darul Uloom Batkote, that purpose is clear: to raise a generation grounded in the Quran, guided by the Sunnah and devoted to the service of their community and their Creator.
Our Vision
An Ummah Rooted in Knowledge and Taqwa
We envision a community in Jammu & Kashmir where every Muslim child has access to authentic Islamic education — where the light of the Quran illuminates homes, families and generations yet to come. Darul Uloom Batkote aspires to be a lasting centre of scholarship, character and spiritual growth for the people of this region.
Our Mission
Nurturing Hearts, Illuminating Minds
Our mission is to provide every student with a structured, rigorous and compassionate Islamic education — one that combines the memorisation and understanding of the Quran with the formation of upright character. Our Journey
History & Milestones
From a vision held by local scholars to a fully residential institution serving students across Jammu & Kashmir — this is the story of Darul Uloom Batkote.
2012
Foundation of Darul Uloom Batkote
The institution was established in Batkote, Pahalgam, under the guidance of local scholars who recognised the need for structured Islamic education in the region. With a small group of resident students and limited resources, the madrasa opened its doors committed to providing free Quranic education to the children of Jammu & Kashmir.
Affiliation
Registered Under Rabita Madaris Islamia Arabia, Darul Uloom Deoband
The institution formally affiliated with Rabita Madaris Islamia Arabia, Darul Uloom Deoband — Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, receiving Rabta No. 2726. This affiliation aligned the madrasa's curriculum and standards with one of the most respected Islamic institutions in the world, giving students and families confidence in the quality and integrity of the education provided.
Growth
Expanding to Serve 45+ Resident Students
Over the years, the institution steadily expanded its capacity — growing to accommodate over 45 full-time resident students across 13 dedicated rooms. All students continue to receive free accommodation, meals, daily care and basic healthcare, true to the founding commitment that no child be turned away on grounds of financial hardship.
Present
Continuing the Mission — Today and Beyond
Today, Darul Uloom Batkote continues to serve the children and families of Pahalgam and the wider Jammu & Kashmir region. With plans to expand its facilities and introduce online classes, the institution looks to the future with the same conviction that has guided it since its founding: that every Muslim child deserves access to authentic, high-quality Islamic education.
